His real name is Shahriar Chowdhury Emon. Although his acting career began with television dramas, he became one of the most popular actors in film in the 1990s.

Salman Shah was born on 19 September 1971 in Daria Para, Sylhet, Bangladesh. He died on 6 September 1996. His body was found hanging from a ceiling fan at his own residence in Dhaka.

Although the autopsy report mentioned suicide, his death remained a mystery. Many blame his wife Samira for Salman Shah’s death.

His first film ‘Keyamot teke Keyamot’ was released in 1993. In the same film, the heroine Moushumi and the singer Agun made their debut.

The play ‘Nayan’ won the Bacchus Award for Best Solo Drama that year. He also acted in the novel ‘Pathar Samay’ based on the novel Moinul Ahsan Saber in 1990 and the serial ‘Itikatha’ in 1994.

On 24 February 2020, the police investigation department reported that Salman Shah had committed suicide.
