The hospital was designed by Canon Design, a renowned North American architectural firm. It is situated on 13 acres of land in New Town, Kolkata, West Bengal.

The medical center specializes in prevention, early diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of cancer patients in West Bengal as well as neighboring states and neighboring countries. The hospital with a capacity of 431 beds caters to all sections of the society, with 75% of its infrastructure earmarked for subsidized treatment for the underprivileged.

Tata Medical Center was conceptualized in 2004 as a philanthropic initiative for the eastern and northeastern parts of India and neighboring countries. In 2011, the hospital was inaugurated by Ratan Tata. Tata Medical Center (TMC) started operations on May 16, 2011. The hospital is governed by the “Tata Medical Center Trust”, a charitable trust established in 2005.

Dr. Pattatheyil Arun has done his MBBS in 1995, MS in 1999 from Calicut University and then went on to do his M Ch in the year 2007 from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University. He then did his Visiting Research Fellowship in Clinical and basic research in Head & Neck Oncology in 2009 from National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, USA.

He has a 11 years experience working in Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences , Kochi where he was last working as Associate Professor before he resigned to join TMCT, Kolkata. His clinical interests span head and neck surgical oncology, tissue banking and stem cell research.
Dr Sanjay Kapoor

Major General (Dr) Sanjay Kapoor VSM (Retd) is Professor and Consultant in Surgical Oncology and retired from Armed Forces Medical Services in May 2019 as Major General Medical Eastern Command , Kolkata. He is a graduate and post graduate from AFMC Pune and has been trained in Surgical Oncology at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai from 2095 to 97.

Dr. Arunangshu Chakraborty completed his MBBS from Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College Calcutta in 2003 and his MD in Anaesthesiology from Moti Lal Nehru Medical College, Allahabad in 2009. After finishing post-graduate training he worked briefly at Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences and Rabindra Nath Tagore International Insitute of Cardiac Sciences. He served in the West Bengal Medical Education Services (WBMES) as a Residential Medical Officer cum Clinical Tutor at the Department of Anaesthesia, Medical College Kolkata. After one year of working as RMO, he was promoted to Assistant Professor at the same department in February, 2011.

In July 2012 he went to Singapore to pursue a 6 months Clinical Fellowship at National University Hospital (NUH) where he learned the usage of Ultrasound for vascular cannulations and peripheral nerve blocks. Dr Shikhar More completed his MBBS in the year 2011, and MD anaesthesiology in 2016. Following this he underwent three years superspeciality training in Onco-Anaesthesia (DM) at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Besides providing anaesthesia services in cancer pateitns, his areas of interest include Perioperative Exercise Testing and Prehabilitation and cancer pain management.

Dr Subhosmito Chakraborty

Dr. Subhosmito Chakraborty is a consultant biochemist at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata. Dr. Chakraborty has completed his MD – Biochemistry from Christian Medical College, Vellore, DNB –Biochemistry from National Board and his fellowship in Biochemistry from Tata Medical Center, Kolkata. In addition to services in Biochemistry, he also handles quality services of the entire laboratory. He has earned a fellowship from UICC and has travelled to Manchester for advanced training in Mass-spectrometry in 2014.

Dr Rosina Ahmed

Dr Rosina Ahmed completed her undergraduate education in Medical College, Calcutta, and spent a period in basic surgical training in that institution. She then went to England where she initially worked in Bristol, and obtained the FRCS (England) in 1991. She continued higher surgical training in the Newcastle and Sheffield regions, gaining a research degree (MD, Sheffield, 1999) and then the FRCS (General Surgery) intercollegiate qualification in 2000.

She obtained the Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in surgery in 2001, then moved back to India to work as a surgeon. She initially worked at Westbank Hospital and later at other hospitals including Columbia Asia, where she initiated establishment of a breast clinic. She moved to Tata Medical Centre in September 2011.

Dr. Reena Nair is a Senior Consultant in Clinical Hematology and Heads the Department of Medical Oncology at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata.
She completed her MBBS and MD [Internal Medicine] from Goa Medical College [1979-1988]. Subsequently did Medical Oncology Residency [1988-89] and Fellowship [1991-1994] at Tata Memorial Hospital before becoming a Medical Oncology Faculty [Lecturer to Professor] at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai from 1994 to 2012.
She has been the Principal Investigator in 35 Clinical Trials [Investigator initiated as well as Industry sponsored trials] and from 2018 she has been the principal investigator of the Onco-collect Lymphoma Registry
She was the Executive Committee Member and Faculty at Australia and Asia Pacific Clinical Oncology Research Development (ACORD) Workshop since 2010 -2017. She has also been the Chairperson, Biobank oversee Committee, TMC, Kolkata 2016 till 2020.
She is the Founding member of the Lymphoma Registry of Mumbai 2009 to 2012 and the National Myeloma Group [IMAGe] 2017 onwards
Her current interest is in management of Hematological malignancies and she has published over 125 papers and book chapters.

Dr Arijit Nag

Dr. Arijit Nag is a consultant in the Department of Clinical Hematology and BMT. He has been associated with TATA Medical Center since 2018, initially as a fellow and subsequently as a staff physician in the team.

His areas of interest include clinical audit of survival outcomes and using them for changing/adapting current therapy practices. He has special interest in stem cell transplantation (with focus on transplants in Thalassemia and Aplastic anemia) and in Acute Leukemia (with focus on Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia).

Dr Rizwan Javed

Dr. Rizwan is a transfusion medicine specialist working with the Bone marrow transplant team at TATA Medical Center, Kolkata. His work involves hematopoietic stem cell collection (apheresis) and cell processing. He ensures safety of donors and the haematopoietic stem cell product. As the department’s Quality manager for FACT accreditation, he is actively working to develop protocols, policies and SOPs in compliance with FACT standards.

After his M.B.B.S, M.D and fellowship in India , he successfully completed one-year Masters in transfusion and transplantation sciences at the NHS Blood and Transplant, which is also home to International Blood Group Reference laboratory (IBGRL). Dr. Tanuj Chawla is a Consultant Clinical Pharmacologist and Oncologist trained in Digestive Cancers at Tata Medical Center (TMC), Kolkata, India. Dr Sudipta Mukherjee passed his MBBS from Nilratan Sircar medical college, kolkata in the year 2005 and worked as Junior Registrar in General Medicine department in the same institute. Subsequently he completed his MD (Anaesthesiology) in the year 2012. After that, he pursued super-speciality training in critical care medicine. Dr Mohandas K Mallath

Dr Mohandas K. Mallath is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Digestive Diseases. After passing MBBS and MD (Medicine) from Bombay University, he specialized in Gastroenterology, Digestive Oncology and Cancer Epidemiology at the Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, USA, and Medical College of St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, London respectively. He was a faculty of TMH, Mumbai from 1989 to 2012 and served as Professor and Head of the Department of Digestive Diseases and Convener of GI Cancer Management Group.

He is a member on the Digestive Oncology Task Force of the World Gastroenterology Association and is a member of the European Society for Digestive Oncology since its inception. He has been the secretary and the president of the Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy of India. Dr. Manas Kumar Roy, a graduate of Banaras Hindu University, passed MS (Surgery) from the same institution in 1991. Subsequently, he pursued higher surgical training in the United Kingdom, and obtained FRCS (Edinburgh and Glasgow) in 1994. During this tenure, he worked mainly in East Glamorgan General Hospital, University Hospital of Wales (Cardiff) and Hammersmith Hospital (London).

Later he underwent fellowship training in Upper GI Surgery at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney and Royal Perth Hospital, Perth, Australia. Thereafter he continued in various faculty positions at Christian Medical College, Ludhiana and was Professor and Chief of the Upper GI unit.

He joined Tata Medical Center, Kolkata in April 2013 as Consultant Upper GI and Thoracic surgeon. Dr. Thambudorai also started the Peritoneal Surface Malignancy programme at Tata Medical Center. His special interests include oesophageal and lung cancer and peritoneal surface malignancy.
Dr Bipradas Roy

Dr Bipradas Roy has completed his undergraduate [MBBS, 2007] and postgraduate training [MS –General Surgery 2012] from R G Kar Medical College, Kolkata. Subsequently he passed MRCS in 2012 from Royal College of Surgeons of England. After completion of basic surgical training, he pursued higher training in GI-HPB surgical oncology.

He then worked as a Consultant in GI-HPB Surgery in Medica Cancer Hospital, Siliguri and Narayana Superciality Hospital, Howrah. After this he joined TMC as a Consultant Surgeon in GI-HPB surgery unit. He has been an observer to Seoul National University Hospital and Asan Medical Center, South Korea. He maintains a keen interest in upper gastrointestinal and peritoneal surface malignancies.
Dr Anand Sagar Ragate

Dr Anand Sagar Ragate completed MBBS in 2012 from Shri B M Patil Medical College, Vijayapura, Karnataka. Subsequently, he did his internship training at same college and also pursued postgraduate training from same institute. Thereafter, served as Senior Resident in the department of General Surgery there between 2016-2017, after this he joined as a senior resident at Mallareddy Medical College, Suraram, Hyderabad from 31st July 2017 – 15th Oct 2017.

In pursuit of further training, he did post-doctoral fellowship in GI-HPB Surgical Oncology at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata from 26th Oct 2017 – Oct 2019. After this period, he joined Tata Medical Center, Kolkata as Clinical Associate in GI-HPB Surgery. Later he completed his hepatobiliary and liver transplant training at Medanta hospital Gurugram. After this period, he joined Tata Medical Center, Kolkata as Consultant in GI-HPB Surgery. His special interests are surgery of the hepato-pancreatico-biliary tract and liver transplant.
Dr Sudeep Banerjee

Dr Sudeep Banerjee completed his MBBS from Medical College, Kolkata in 1998. He qualified as MS in Surgery at the Post-graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh in 2004. After MS, he worked at PGIMER as senior registrar in GI surgery for two years. In 2006, Dr. Banerjee topped the superspecialty entrance examination conducted by Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore and pursued training in GI and Hepatic-Pancreatic-Biliary (HPB) surgery at CMC Vellore till 2009.

He was awarded a DNB degree in Gastrointestinal Surgery by the National Board in 2010. He has had an excellent academic career spanning eight years of surgical practice. Dr. Banerjee has been a visiting fellow to the department of HPB and Liver transplantation at Asan Medical Center, Seoul, South Korea. He also has been a visiting fellow to the department of Pancreas-Biliary and related cancer at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, USA and worked under Prof. Charles Yeo, a famous pancreatic surgeon. He is an Indo-American Cancer Association (IACA) fellow.
Dr Amrit Pipara

Dr. Amrit Pipara completed his MBBS (2006) and MS (General Surgery, 2011) from M.S. Ramaiah medical college, Bangalore. After completion of basic surgical training he joined Christian Medical college, Vellore for his Post-doctoral fellowship in Colorectal surgery. He completed the same in 2014 and joined as faculty in the Colorectal surgery department first as Senior resident and then as Assistant professor. He was awarded the international travelling fellowship from the Indian Association of Colo-rectal surgeons (ACRSI) and also from the American society of colo-rectal surgery (ASCRS). As a part of this he spent 4 weeks in St. Francis hospital and medical center, Hartford, CT, USA in May 2016.

Subsequently, he moved to Kolkata, his hometown and joined Tata Medical Center. He finished a 2 year GI oncology fellowship at TMC and joined the GI surgery department as Consultant surgeon. He has presented papers in various national conferences and has been part of research studies. He also has been faculty in national colorectal conference. His area of interest is colorectal surgery (open and minimally invasive).
Dr Abhimanyu Kar

Dr Abhimanyu Kar completed MBBS in 2007 from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore. Subsequently, he did his internship training at R.G. Kar Medical College, Kolkata. He pursued postgraduate training at Government Medical College, Mysore (M.S. General Surgery). Thereafter, served as Senior Resident in the dept of General Surgery at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal between 2012-2014. In this period, he passed DNB (General Surgery) and was awarded Membership of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK. Following his tenure at Manipal, he did super-specialty training, DNB (Surgical Gastroenterology) from The Calcutta Medical Research Institute, Kolkata (2015-2018).

Hereafter, he worked as Consultant in GI, Bariatric and Minimal Access Surgery at a prominent hospital in Kolkata. Gynaecological Sergery

Dr Jaydip Bhaumik

Dr Jaydip Bhaumik is the Head of the Department, Gynaecological Oncology at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata. Before relocating to India in 2009, Dr Bhaumik worked as a consultant gynaecologist in South Wales, UK. He was an honorary lecturer at the University of Wales College of Medicine, Cardiff, preceptor for minimal access gynaecological surgery for the Welsh Deanery, trainer at the Welsh Institute of Minimal Access Therapy, and a BSCCP accredited trainer in colposcopy. Dr Bhaumik made significant contributions in the development of UK based protocols, some of them centred on his original research, for cervical screening and colposcopy.

At Tata Medical Center (TMC), Dr Bhaumik has created and fostered the gynaecological oncology department now comprising of five consultants and several trainees who are providing evidence based modern scientific treatment to women suffering from cancer of the reproductive organs. Apart from leading high-end clinical services like robotic surgery and management of advanced ovarian cancer, he is associated with various research projects from this institution and is currently leading a multicentre DBT funded translational research.
Dr Basumita Chakraborti

Dr. Basumita Chakraborti completed her basic medical qualification and MD in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from JIPMER (Pondicherry University), thereafter DNB in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2002. Her safe work ethics and fantastic patient care is the key to her practice which has evolved over years of experience in good hospitals in India and United Kingdom. Dr Chakraborti got trained in the United Kingdom between 2004 and 2007 in hospitals including University Hospitals of Leicester, City Hospital Birmingham, Erne Hospital Enniskillen, and Stoke Mandeville Hospital Aylesbury. She completed her Fellowship in Gynaecological Oncology from Tata Medical Centre (TMC), Kolkata.

She is working as Consultant at the Department of Gynaecological Oncology at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata, since August 2013. She received the prestigious ESGO (European Society of Gynaecological Oncology) Travel Fellowship in 2018 which took her to Royal London Hospital & Barts Cancer Center and Research Institute (London), Queen Elizabeth Hospital NHS Trust (Newcastle and Gateshead, UK) and Institute Bergonie (France) for advanced training in Gynaecological Oncology. Dr Chakraborti completed the Certificate of completion of Fellowship in Gynaecological oncology-Comprehensive Applied Science and Online Training, UKSH, Germany in 2020.  
Dr Anik Ghosh

Dr. Anik Ghosh is a Consultant in the Department of Gynae-Oncology at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata. He completed his MBBS and MS (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) from West Bengal University of Health Sciences. Following this, he completed his sub-speciality fellowship training in gynae-oncology at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata and then joined the institute as a faculty member. He has been with this institute from its inception and has been developing services for its continuous improvement.

His special interests are in cytoreductive surgeries (debulking surgeries) for peritoneal surface malignancies originating from gynaecological organs(ovary and uterus) and application of intraperitoneal chemotherapy(HIPEC) in its treatment. He is also successful in applying minimally invasive (laparoscopic) surgical techniques in the treatment of early uterine and cervical cancers.

He then did his Visiting Research Fellowship in Clinical and basic research in Head & Neck Oncology in 2009 from National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, USA.

He has a 11 years experience working in Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences , Kochi where he was last working as Associate Professor before he resigned to join TMCT, Kolkata. His clinical interests span head and neck surgical oncology, tissue banking and stem cell research.
Dr Prateek Jain

Dr Prateek Jain is Junior Consultant in the Department of surgical Oncology (Head and Neck Surgery) at Tata Medical Centre, Kolkata. He completed his MS(Otorhinolaryngology) from Government medical College, Aurangabad followed by DNB in 2015. Since then he has persuaded honing his knowledge and skills in Head and Neck surgery at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata. He was awarded the travel fellowship to attend Australia and Asia Pacific Clinical Oncology Research Development (ACORD) Workshop in 2016.

He also received Vattikuti Foundation’s Scholarship in 2017 and Travel Fellowship 2018 by the Foundation for Head and Neck Oncology (FHNO) which has helped him broaden his exposure to latest technologies and treatment techniques. He has published one book and 6 articles apart from presenting 12 abstracts at various conferences. His special interests include oral and thyroid cancers.
Dr Vikram D. Kekatpure

Dr Vikram Kekatpure is a Senior Consultant, Head and Neck Surgeon at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata. He has two decades of experience and previously, having worked as Senior consultant and head, Mazumdar Shaw cancer center, Narayana Health, Bangalore and Aster CMI hospital, Bangalore. He completed his MBBS and MS from Nagpur University and MCh (head and neck surgery) from Amrita Institute of medical sciences Kochi. He received research fellowship from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer center, New York and post-doctoral research training at the Weill Medical College of the Cornell University, New York City. Dr Vikram holds leadership positions in various national and international academic societies.

He has served as the national secretary and treasurer of the Foundation for Head and Neck Oncology, national association of head and neck oncologists in India. He is an executive member of the head and neck cooperative oncology group. He has several peer reviewed national and international publications and has been an invited speaker at many national and international conferences. Dr Vikram has special interests in management of advanced head and neck cancers, salvage surgery, complex post ablative reconstruction and rehabilitation, management of thyroid and laryngeal cancers. His research interests include tobacco carcinogenesis and tumor metastasis.

Dr Soumyadip Chatterji

Dr. Chatterji completed his M.B.B.S from IPGME&R, SSKM hospital, the premier institute of West Bengal, with an honours and a gold medal. He then pursued his post graduate training at the only school of Tropical Medicine in India (The Calcutta School of Tropical Medicine) and completed his MD in Tropical Medicine. Following this he briefly joined Tata Medical Center, Kolkata as a fellow in Infectious Diseases in Oncology and worked here for 9 months till he was selected For D.M (Infectious Diseases) at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.

During his tenure at A.I.I.M.S he visited the Oxford University Hospitals, U.K for a short visiting fellowship in Infectious Diseases. After completion of his D.M in Infectious Diseases training from A.I.I.M.S, New Delhi he immediately joined back his old institute. He has been working here since then. He has a number of national and international publications. He is keenly interested in Transplant Infections, HIV and adult immunization in addition to general Infectious Diseases and Medicine.

Dr. Mishra is currently a Senior Consultant in Laboratory Haematology & Molecular Pathology at the Tata Medical Centre, Kolkata; a fledgling new comprehensive cancer centre . He is also the Director of the Dept of Laboratory Sciences in the hospital. After working for more than 25 years in the Armed Forces; in its flag-ship hospitals & institutes like Army Hospital (Research & Referral), New Delhi and Armed Forces Medical College, Pune ; he joined his current assignment in May, 2010, which has state of the art diagnostic , therapeutic and research facilities. He is the best medical graduate of his MBBS batch from VSS Medical College, Sambalpur, Odisha in 1983 and AFMC, Pune is his alma mater for his MD Pathology in 1990.

He received his post-doctoral Fellowship in Haematology from the prestigious AIIMS, New Delhi and have been further trained in many centers of excellence in the west. His major areas of interest have been flowcytometry and molecular genetics in haemato-oncology including minimal residual disease in CML, ALLs, Myeloid neoplasms including MDS, MPNs and Multiple Myeloma. Dr. Asish Rath completed his MBBS in 2011 and MD in Pathology in 2015. He then pursued post-doctoral fellowship in laboratory hematology at the prestigious TATA Medical Center, Kolkata. He obtained his super-specialty degree in haematopathology (DM Haematopathology) from AIIMS, New Delhi in 2022. He has a special interest in diagnostic flow cytometry as well as minimal residual disease analysis in ALL, AML, CLL and multiple myeloma by flow cytometry.

Dr Joydeep Ghosh is a consultant medical oncologist at Tata Medical Center , Kolkata. He completed his medical training with MBBS and MD ( Medicine ) from WBUHS, kolkata. After that, he went to pursue Medical oncology as a subject from the prestigious TATA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, Mumbai. He completed his DM in the year 2015. Dr Soumendranath Ray obtained a Diploma in Radiation Medicine (DRM) from Radiation Medicine Centre ,Tata Memorial Hospital in 1991 and DNB(Nuclear Medicine) in 1994. Dr Ray was also trained in and remained associated with many reputed institutions like Wisconsin Medical College and Vanderbilt University (USA), Institute of Radiosynoviorthesis & Thyroid (Cologne, Germany), Royal Liverpool Hospital (UK). He has worked in reputed hospitals like Radiation Medicine Centre, Tata Memorial Hospital, (Mumbai), the EKO X-Ray & Imaging Institute (Kolkata) and the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital (Mumbai).

Dr Ray has many years of teaching experience and was awarded Certificate of Appreciation from International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for post graduate teaching. He has several years of experience in diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine, including PET-CT, SPECT-CT and the treatment of thyroid cancer, hepatocellular cancer, neuroendocrine tumors and pain bone metastasis. He was amongst the first physicians to start radiation synovectomy and SPECT-CT in India. His special interests are in the field of radioisotope therapies in cancer and in advanced molecular and correlative oncoimaging. He wants to develop optical imaging and preclinical microPET imaging for basic research and drug development for cancer.

Vaskar Saha, MBBS, DCH, MD, PhD, FRCPCH, FRCPath is the Head of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology at Tata Medical Center and Director of the Tata Translational Cancer Research Centre with a dual appointment as Professor of Paediatric Oncology at the University of Manchester. He completed undergraduate and postgraduate training at the Christian Medical College, Vellore. His training in paediatric haematology and oncology were at the University of Edinburgh and the Medical College of St Bartholomew Hospital, London and he completed a PhD at the University of London.

Prior to his appointment in Manchester in 2006, Dr Saha was Professor and Head of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology at the Barts and London School of Medicine and Dentistry. He is the first Margdarshi Fellow of the DBT-Wellcome India Alliance. Dr Arpita Bhattacharya

Dr Arpita Bhattacharyya graduated from Medical College, Calcutta in 1987. She obtained her Diploma in Child Health in 1991 and MRCP in Paediatrics from the Royal College of Physicians, UK, in 1997. After her core training in Paediatrics in various hospitals in UK including Milton Keyenes General Hospital, Walsgrave Hospital, Warwick Hospital and Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, she went on to train in Paediatric Haematology and Oncology at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Glasgow.

After her return to India, Dr Bhattacharyya has been working as a Consultant in Paediatric Haematology and Oncology at Calcutta Medical Research Institute followed by Apollo Gleneagles Hospital, Kolkata. Her goal is to provide complete care and support to children with cancer and other haematological diseases. The Children’s Unit at the Tata Medical Center thus provides state of the art, evidence based, and holistic care to children stricken with cancer.

After finishing MBBS from Medical college ,Trivandrum joined Calicut Medical College for MD pediatrics. On completion of MD, joined as senior resident at Kottayam Medical college for one year after completion of MD pediatrics. Worked as Assistant professor in Neonatology unit of Department of pediatrics at SUT Medical college, Trivandrum for one year. Then worked as consultant pediatrician at Ananthapuri Hospital in Trivandrum for 2 years. Joined Tata Medical Center, Kolkata as Fellow in pediatric hematology Oncology in 2011.

Joined Regional Cancer Center, Trivandrum for DM Pediatric Oncology training in 2012. After completion of the course in 2015 worked at Aster Medcity, Cochin as Pediatric Oncologist for 2 years. Joined Tata Medical Center,Kolkata in 2017 as Consultant in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology. Area of interest is in Bone tumors,Lymphomas and Bone Marrow Transplantation.

Dr Parthasarathi Bhattacharyya

Dr. Parthasarathi Bhattacharyya is currently working as a Senior Consultant in Pediatric Onco Critical Care at tata medical Center, Kolkata. He did his MBBS from Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata (University of Calcutta) and DCH from S. S. Medical College, MP (A.P.S. University, MP). He then moved on to work in various tertiary care Children’s Hospitals in UK for higher training in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care. He was awarded Membership of Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in Pediatrics in 1998.

At the end of his training in UK, he returned to Kolkata and started his career as a Consultant Pediatric Intensivist. He embarked on an exciting and challenging journey of saving lives of critically ill children in various PICUs he established in the city spanning over twenty years. He now brings his expertise to support the children undergoing treatment for various childhood malignancies requiring Pediatric Onco Critical Care support.
Dr Shekhar Krishnan

Dr Shekhar Krishnan is a Senior Consultant in Paediatric Haematology and Oncology. He graduated with distinction from Christian Medical College, Vellore in 1991 and subsequently awarded a MRCP in Paediatrics in 1996, FRCPath in 2009 and a PhD from the University of London in 2011.

He has worked at the University of Malaya, St Bartholomew’s Hospital London, The Royal London Hospital, Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and is recipient of a Cancer Research UK Clinical Fellowship. He is currently on secondment from University Malaya where he is an Associate Professor. Dr Krishnan’s clinical interests are in benign and malignant haematology as well as in stem cell transplantation.
Dr Niharendu Ghara
Consultant
Dr. Niharendu Ghara is a Senior Consultant in Paediatric Haematology. He started his career in Kolkata, with MBBS and DCH from the Calcutta University. He achieved his MD Pathology from AIIMS, New Delhi in 2003 and continued as a Senior Resident in AIIMS in Haemato-Pathology till 2005 before moving to UK for further training. He trained in paediatrics and was awarded Membership of Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) in 2009. Thereafter, he trained in Haematology in London under the auspices of North West London Local Education and Training Board or the Hammersmith/ Imperial College rotation.

The major parts of Paediatric Haematology training were in St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London, and Great Ormond Street Hospital, London. He was awarded Fellowship of Royal College of Pathologists ( FRCPath ,Haematology) in 2015 and attained his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in 2016. After his long training in Paediatrics, Pathology and Clinical Haematology, he embarked on his career as a Consultant Paediatric Haematologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London, the world renowned paediatric hospital (2016 to 2018) before returning to India. His areas of interest are malignant and non-malignant haematological diseases of childhood and Stem Cell Transplantation.

P alliative Care and Psycho-oncology

Dr Soumitra Shankar Datta
Consultant
Dr. Soumitra Shankar Datta is a senior consultant psychiatrist working in the Department of Palliative Care and Psycho-oncology of Tata Medical Centre. After MBBS, he obtained DPM, MD and DNB degrees in psychiatry from Christian Medical College, Vellore. He was awarded the Florence Nichol Prize and Rose Chacko Medal for being the best out-going student for the DPM and MD courses in CMC,Vellore. Subsequently he joined the department of psychiatry in CMC, Vellore as a lecturer and consultant. On moving to United Kingdom after obtaining MRCPsych, Dr. Datta trained as a child psychiatrist. Dr. Datta has a Certificate of Completion of Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry from UK (CCT).

Prior to joining TMC, he worked as a substantive consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist in Kings College Hospital, London and The Maudsley Hospital, London. During his clinical career he has trained doctors and other professionals and was an examiner for undergraduate and post graduate medical students of University of Manchester and Guy’s Hospital, London. He was awarded Donald Cohen Fellowship by the International Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists and Allied Professionals in 2008. In 2014, Dr. Datta was awarded the UCL International Teaching Excellence Bursary by the University College London to develop Communication skills training for oncology clinicians.

Dr. Datta leads the psycho-oncology service in Tata Medical Center that provides psychological support for newly diagnosed patients with cancer, treats psychiatric comorbidties as depression, procedural anxiety and other conditions in cancer patients and their family members and offers training to staff on psycho-oncology. The department offers comprehensive assessment and neuropsychological testing for patients with brain tumours.

Dr. Datta is a visiting researcher for the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London and also for Institute of Women Studies in University College London. Dr. Datta is the Principal Investigator for several research projects in the area of depression/body image in cancer, doctor patient relationships in oncology and has developed a communication skills course for oncology clinicians. He runs a one year psycho-oncology fellowship programme in TMC.
Dr Gaurav Kumar

Dr Gaurav Kumar is presently working as a Consultant in the Department of Palliative Care and Psycho-oncology at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata. He completed his MBBS and MD (Clinical Pharmacology) from S.C.B.Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, Odisha. He has also pursued a Diploma in Geriatric Medicine and then went on to pursue Fellowship in Palliative Care from Tata Medical Center, Kolkata from 2015 to 2017.

Dr Kumar was awarded the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) Fellowship in Palliative care in 2016, wherein he underwent training in various aspects of hospital, hospice and community based palliative care in Wales. He was posted at the Alaw Unit of Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor, Wales UK during his training in UK. Dr Kumar has worked in the capacity of Consultant in Palliative Care in various hospitals in East and Central India and has been instrumental in increasing awareness of palliative care in these regions amongst the community and medical professionals. His main interest includes provision of community based palliative care and he is working as a lead investigator in a NIH Based project focussing on the same.
Dr Shrikant Atreya

Dr. Shrikant Y Atreya is a consultant in Palliative Medicine working in the Department of Palliative Care and Psycho-oncology of Tata Medical Centre. After MBBS, he obtained his MD degrees in Community Medicine from Topiwala National Medical College, BYL Nair Hospital, Mumbai. He later went to pursue his postdoctoral fellowship in Palliative Medicine in Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH), Mumbai and was awarded the degree in 2013. He worked in the department of Palliative medicine as a senior registrar , TMH, Mumbai after which he joined TMC, Kolkata. During his stint in TMH he underwent training in Palliative Medicine in St. Christophers Hospice in London.

He also obtained ICRETT fellowship for a one month project in Palliative care in Hospice Africa Uganda. While he was in TMH, Mumbai, he worked with National Rural Health Mission to promote palliative care to the Rural and Urban population with chronic life limiting conditions. In the process, he was appointed as committee member to write up the Maharashtra Palliative Care Policy which got approved by the Government in the year 2013. He has also written training modules and operational guidelines for both adult and pediatric palliative care for the state of Maharashtra.
Dr Arnab Mukherjee

Arnab Mukherjee, MD, is a consultant in Department of Palliative Care and Psycho-oncology at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata. He completed his undergraduate (MBBS) training from NRS Medical College, Kolkata and postgraduate medical training in psychiatry (MD and DPM) from Christian Medical College, Vellore. He continued to work in Department of Psychiatry as a faculty after completing his post-graduation till he joined Tata Medical Center, Kolkata in 2018.

His academic interests include studies of mental health conditions and distress in cancer including anticipatory anxiety, loss of meaning, demoralization, grief and existential issues. He works on understanding perception of cancer among patients and caregivers including stigma and psychosocial stressors around cancer. His other interests include communication in cancer, unexplained somatic symptoms, cultural factors in mental health suffering and coping. He has published multiple articles and chapters in peer reviewed national and international journals/books. Dr Arnab is a member of World Association of Cultural Psychiatry and a fellow of Indian Association of Psychiatry.

Pathology

Dr Geetashree Mukherjee
Consultant
Dr. Geetashree Mukherjee served as Head – Department of Pathology – for 14 years at the Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, a tertiary cancer centre in Bengaluru, under the Govt. of Karnataka. She moved to Tata Medical Center, Kolkata, on 1st December 2014, where she has been heading the department of histopathology. As a histopathologist, her training and tenure has primarily been in the areas of diagnostic pathology & oncopathology respectively, with more than 30 years of experience as an academic consultant in the field. Her special interests are breast, female genital, lung and head and neck cancers.

Dr. Mukherjee has also been trained in the basics of molecular biology and techniques and is a UICC Fellow. She has significantly contributed in building the histopathology department at the Kidwai Cancer Centre along with teaching. She has worked at the junction of diagnostics and basic science and actively participated in clinical research. Her recent interest is in the field of tumor immunology, trying to understand the host immune response in oral cancers. She has been instrumental in setting up the digital pathology platform, and infrastructure related to research at the Tata Medical Center.
Dr Divya Midha

Dr Divya Midha completed her undergraduate education at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum and pursued her MD in Pathology at Father Muller Medical College, Mangalore. Following her Post Graduation in 2008 she moved to Hyderabad where she spent a year training in Hematopathology and Flow Cytometry at Lifeline Pathology Centre. In 2009, she moved to Kolkata to SRL Religare where she gained experience as a histopathologist and cytopathologist for 2 years, following which she pursued her fellowship in Oncopathology at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata from 2011-2012.

She subsequently joined as a Consultant in the Department of Oncopathology, Tata Medical Center, Kolkata in June 2012. Her current interests include gynaecological pathology, urological pathology, soft tissue tumour pathology, lung tumour pathology and cytopathology.
Dr M A Lateef Zameer

Dr. Lateef Zameer has done his MD in Pathology from Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad in the year 2010. He subsequently did a one fellowship in Oncopathology at Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bangalore, followed by a two year fellowship in Oncopathology at Tata medical Center, Kolkata. He is working as a consultant in TMC, since March 2015 and has an experience in Oncopathology of more than 10Yrs.

His special interests include lymphoma, CNS, head and neck, lung, gynaec and gastrointestinal pathology.
Dr Bhagat Singh Lali
Consultant
Dr. Bhagat Singh Lali joined as Junior Consultant in Department of Histopathology at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata in May 2022. He pursued MBBS (undergraduate training) from VCSG Government Medical Sciences and Research Institute, Srinagar, Uttarakhand and obtained highest cumulative overall score in the university examinations. Later, he obtained MD (postgraduate training) in Pathology from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal. He completed one year and one month of senior residency at HBCH/MPMMCC, Tata Memorial Centre, Varanasi.

He joined Tata Medical Center, Kolkata as fellow in the department of Oncopathology where he underwent PDCC in Oncosurgical Pathology (Indian College of Pathologists) during 2020-2021 and post-doctoral fellowship (PDF) in Oncopathology till April 2022. He is a life member of Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists. He has keen interest in various disciplines of Oncopathology and Cytopathology including Soft tissue and Bone Pathology, Gynecologic Pathology, Genito-urinary Pathology, Gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliary Pathology, Paediatric Pathology and Lymphoreticular Pathology.
Dr Paromita Roy

Dr. Paromita Roy has done her MD in Pathology from University of Calcutta in the year 2006. She subsequently trained and worked in oncopathology at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai till 2008, followed by fellowships in head and neck and gastrointestinal pathology at the Toronto General Hospital, University Health Network, Toronto, Canada.She has over 15 years of experience in oncopathology.
 
Her special interests include head and neck, gastrointestinal and pediatric pathology.
Dr Indu Arun

Dr.Indu Arun completed her MD in Pathology from Government Medical College, Kottayam, Kerala in 2007 followed by a Research Fellowship in Flow Cytometry at National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, U.S.A. In 2009, she moved to Kerala where she worked as a Senior Resident in the Department of Pathology, Government Medical College, Trichur. She then completed a specialty fellowship in Oncopathology at Tata Medical Center Kolkata and subsequently continued in the institution as a consultant in 2012.

Her special interests include Breast, Head and Neck and Lymphoma Pathology.
Dr Anand Bardia
Consultant
Dr. Anand Bardia completed his undergraduate education at Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital and pursued his MD in Pathology at Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. Following his Post Graduation in 2017, he moved to Jodhpur where he spent around 2 years as Senior Resident at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Jodhpur.

In 2019, he moved back to PGIMER, Chandigarh where he gained experience as a Senior Resident in histopathology for 1.5 years, besides, undergoing fellowship training in Renal Pathology and Transplantation from 2020-21. He subsequently joined as a Consultant in the Department of Oncopathology, Tata Medical Center, Kolkata in February, 2021. His current interests include gastrointestinal pathology, renal and urogenital pathology, soft tissue tumour pathology, neuropathology and cytopathology.

Plastic and Reconstructive

Dr Gautam Biswas
Consultant
Gautam Biswas completed his undergraduate (MBBS) training from NRS Medical college Kolkata,and MS from Motilal Nehru Medical College Allahabad in 1985. He completed his post doctoral (M.Ch)in Plastic surgery from the Post Graduate Institute Chandigarh in 1989.After working as a Consutant at Safdarjung Medical college from 1991-1993, he joined as Faculty at the Post Graduate Institute Chandigarh from 1993 to 2012.He took voluntary retirement from the position of Professor at the Institute to join Tata Medical Center in 2012 as a Consultant.
He had advanced training in Reconstructive Microsurgery in Taiwan and Japan. He also worked as a Consultant in the Ministry of Health Oman, in the Department of Plastic surgery from 2005-2007.

He was the President of the Indian Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery from 2012-2014. He has received the Peet Prize of the Association of Plastic surgeons, the International travelling Fellowship of APSI ,and the Ethicon visiting Professor in Microsurgery.
His interest is in Head and neck, Breast ,Hand and Microneural surgery.
Dr. Amrita Kaur

Amrita Kaur completed her undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MS, General Surgery) training from Bombay (Maharashtra University of Health sciences) in 2015. Thereafter, she underwent three years of plastic surgery residency at the esteemed Christian Medical College, Vellore, Tamil Nadu where an intense training in trauma, oncology, burn injuries and congenital defects followed. Upon completion of MCh degree, she chose to pursue her interest in microvascular surgery with an 18month fellowship at Tata Medical, Kolkata.

She joined the TMC family as a consultant in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in March 2022. She is a member of national and state societies of plastic surgery. Her interests lie in trunk, head and neck and lymphatic microsurgeries. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, diving and running.
Dr Karnav Bharat Panchal

Dr Karnav Bharat Panchal has completed his M.B.B.S from Smt. NHL Municipal Medical College, Ahmedabad, Gujarat under Gujarat University and Graduated in August 2009. He hase done D.N.B (Diplomate in National Board ) Plastic Surgery from March 2010 to March 2016 , Ganga Hospital which is a NABH accredited, this was followed by further training in the form of senior fellowship in Plastic, Reconstructive and advanced microsurgery and oncoplasty at TATA Medical center Kolkata from June 2016 to May 2018.

Currently he is Consultant in Plastic, Reconstructive and Microsurgery department. His special interest include complex Head and Neck reconstruction, Limb salvage surgeries and microvascular reconstruction in extremity sarcomas and in Microvascular breast reconstruction.

Preventive Oncology

Dr Sonia Mathai
Consultant
Dr Sonia Mathai is a consultant in Preventive Oncology. She received her training in Gynaecologic Oncology at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata. Dr. Mathai underwent her basic and post graduate medical training at Christian Medical College, Ludhiana and worked as Assistant Professor for 3 years in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Thereafter she worked in Malawi for 2 years where she established an obstetric facility in a community clinic and trained local healthcare professionals in obstetric and gynaecological procedures. She has worked in the EHA Mission Hospital, Tezpur, to help re-establish their obstetric unit. After completing the fellowship program in Gynaecologic Oncology, she continued at TMC as the Project Consultant in SyMeC, a DBT funded translational research project focused on cervical cancer screening and cervical cancer treatment. Dr. Mathai has trained and received her certification in Colposcopy from IARC-IFCPC and is presently pursuing her MPH from the University of Liverpool.

Dr Mathai is a recipient of the Commonwealth Distance Learning Award (2018) by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (UK) and the IDEA 2020 award by ASCO. She has participated in various research studies in gynaecological malignancies and also coordinates surgical clinical trials under the NIHR Global Health Research Unit on Global Surgery at TMC. In addition, she is the sub hub lead for the TMC ECHO online cancer screening training program “Prayash”.
 
Dr. Mathai’s primary areas of interest are the development of cancer care for the community particularly in screening and prevention, capacity building and empowering community healthcare systems in cancer screening.

Radiation Oncology

Dr Rimpa Achari
Consultant
Dr Rimpa Achari received her MD in Radiation Oncology at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow in 2001 and then moved on to Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai for further experience. Dr Achari spent time in Duke University Medical Center as an UICC fellow understanding and learning the nuances of pediatric image guided radiation therapy.
She has a special interest in the management of the central nervous system, pediatric and hematolymphoid tumours.

Her current focus lies in the implications of integrated molecular diagnosis and radiomic research in glial tumours. She is passionate about incorporating multimodality imaging within the radiation oncology planning and delivery chain. She has ongoing clinical imaging research projects that are evaluating high grade glioma radiomics, incorporation of deep inspiration breath hold CT for mediastinal lymphoma RT and has recently completed a DBT funded trial to investigate the role of metabolic imaging for radiotherapy planning at Tata Medical Center.
Dr Sanjoy Chatterjee

Dr Sanjoy Chatterjee has completed MBBS from Calcutta Medical College before doing his MRCP (Gen Medicine), FRCP, and FRCR (Clinical Oncology) from London. Thereafter he completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education and was given the Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy of the UK. During his training, Dr Chatterjee received various awards including the Gold Medal and Duke of Edinburgh’s prize. He has 10 years of international exposure working in institutions like Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, Beatson Oncology Centre, Glasgow and Western General Hospital, Edinburgh.

He has also done Fellowships in IMRT/IGRT in Royal Marsden Hospital, London and Christie Hospital Manchester and completed original studies and projects in Head and Neck and Breast cancers. Before joining TMCT, Dr Chatterjee was working as Consultant Clinical Oncologist in Northern Centre for Cancer Care, Freeman Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK and was a member of the council of British Association of Head and Neck Oncologists (BAHNO). His special interests include Head and Neck cancers, Breast cancer and Lung cancer.

Dr Tapesh Bhattacharyya

Dr Tapesh Bhattacharyya is a Senior Consultant of Tata Medical Center, Kolkata. He completed his MBBS from Calcutta National Medical College, Kolkata followed by MD from Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Shimla. He trained further as a Senior Resident in PGIMER, Chandigarh. He has served as a faculty in several hospitals across the country including PGIMER, Chandigarh (Nov-2014-Dec2014), Malabar Cancer Center, Thalassery, Kerala (2015-2016) and Regional Cancer Center, Trivandrum (2016-2017).

He underwent advanced clinical training on Heavy Ion Radiotherapy from May 2018 to November 2019 at National Institute of Radiological Sciences, Chiba, Japan. His special interests include gastrointestinal cancers, lung cancer, gynaecological cancers and particle therapy.
Dr Indranil Mallick
Consultant
Dr Indranil Mallick has done his MD in Radiotherapy from Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh in the year 2005 and completed his DNB in 2006. He was a recipient of the Kataria Memorial Gold Medal as the best postgraduate student among all specialities in PGIMER. He has worked at the Tata Memorial Hospital till 2008 and then completed a clinical fellowship in Radiation Oncology at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, Canada prior to joining Tata Medical Centre in 2010.
 
His primary clinical interests include genitourinary cancers (prostate cancer, bladder cancer, testicular cancer), head and neck cancers, and gastrointestinal cancers (cancers of the rectum, anal canal and oesophagus). His current focus is on developing and maintaining an advanced treatment programme for prostate cancer in Kolkata and on the implementation of modern intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) techniques in prostate, head and neck and GI cancers.

 Dr Mallick has a keen interest in innovative educational technologies and leads three e-learning programs for oncologists that are available worldwide. This includes the National Cancer Grid e-learning portal which is building oncology training resources for staff in over 140 hospitals in India.
Dr Santam Chakraborty

Dr Santam Chakraborty is a Senior Consultant of Tata Medical Center, Kolkata. He completed his MBBS from Medical College, Kolkata followed by MD from Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh. He trained further as a Senior Resident in PGIMER, Chandigarh and then went to Canada for a 1-year fellowship in IMRT at Tom Baker Cancer Center, Calgary, Alberta.

He has served as a faculty in several hospitals across the country including Dr B Barooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati (2010-11), Malabar Cancer Center, Thalassery, Kerala (2011-14) and Tata Memorial Hospital (2014-17). His special interests include breast cancer, gynaecological cancers, soft tissue sarcomas (adult) and health economics.
Dr Moses Arunsingh S

Dr Moses Arunsingh S completed his MBBS from Coimbatore Medical College in 2008 before completing his postgraduate training in MD (Radiation Oncology) from Barnard Institute of Radiology and Oncology at Madras Medical College, Chennai in 2013. He underwent further speciality training in the Fellowship in Radiation Oncology program at Tata Medical Center from 2013 to 2016. Following this he was working at Leeds Cancer Centre, Leeds, the United Kingdom as a Specialty Registrar in Clinical Oncology from 2017 to 2018.

During the training at Tata Medical Center and Leeds Cancer Centre, he trained in Clinical Oncology and received the FRCR (Clinical Oncology) from London in the Autumn session of 2017. He has joined Tata Medical Center as a consultant in the Department of Radiation Oncology in May 2018. His special interests include lung cancers, genitourinary and gastrointestinal cancers.

Dr Saugata Sen
Consultant
Dr. Sen has completed his MD in Radiology in 2003 from IPGMER and SSKM Hospitals in Kolkata. He has subsequently worked at the Bombay Hospital and in a private- government joint venture in CT in SSKM Hospital and IPGMER under Department of Radiology. He then joined as a consultant Radiologist at AMRI Hospitals in Kolkata where over the last 5 years he has built a rich and successful professional career, prior to joining TMC.

His special interests lie in Magentic Resonance Imaging and in radiology guided diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Dr Sumit Mukhopadhyay

Dr. Sumit Mukhopadhyay did his MBBS from Calcutta National Medical College (CNMC, Kolkata)and did his post graduation in Radiology from Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College(MGMMC) and M.Y hospital , Indore. Thereafter he trained in Bombay Hospital and Research Institute in Mumbai.

He joined Tata Medical Center in 2013. His areas of interest in the field of Oncologic Imaging being response evaluation in oncology , Whole body MRI application in Oncology and Imaging in cancer screening .
Dr Priya Ghosh

Dr Priya Ghosh is working as Associate Consultant at the Department of Radiology, Tata Medical Centre,
Kolkata. She completed her MBBS in 2010 and MD (Radio-diagnosis) in 2014 from Medical College,
Kolkata. She has attained the degree of FRCR (Clinical Radiology) from the Royal College of
Radiologists, UK in 2016. She trained as a Fellow in Onco-radiology and interventions at Tata Medical
Center, Kolkata. She has trained as European School of Radiology Visiting Scholar in Oncologic
Imaging at European Institute of Oncology, Milan. She has worked as a Specialty Doctor in Radiology
with interest in Oncologic Imaging at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, UK and Locum
Consultant radiologist at NHS Fife, UK before joining as a consultant at Tata Medical Center.
Her special interests include head and neck imaging, gynaecological imaging, peritoneal imaging,
sarcoma imaging and breast imaging.
Dr Anisha Gehani
Consultant
Dr. Anisha Gehani has acquired her MD in Radiodiagnosis from Pramukhswami Medical College, Gujarat in 2017 and Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Oncoradiology and Interventions from Tata Medical Center, Kolkata in 2019. She is an MBBS gold-medallist and takes keen interest in academics. She has several scientific publications and posters as an author and a co-author. She has been an invited faculty and speaker at various national conferences. Her current areas of interest are adult and paediatric neuro-oncology and has undergone brief training in Neuroradiology and Head and Neck radiology from the University Hospital of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
Dr Aditi Chandra

Dr Chandra passed her MD from Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Wardha in 2003. She also trained in MRI in the Bombay Institute of Medical Sciences in 2005. She has over the last few years worked in Apollo Gleneagles Hospital, and Medica Superspeciality Hospital Kolkata. Her interests lie in MRI and Women’s Imaging including Mammography.
Dr Dayananda Lingegowda

Dr Dayananda Lingegowda is consultant in department of radiodiagnosis , Tata medical center. Kolkata. He completed his MBBS from Al-Ameen medical collage Bijapur(Karnataka) and DNB-Radiodiagnosis from Amrita institute of medical sciences, Cochin (Kerala). Then he further perused further training in cardiovascular and neuroradiology(Post doctoral fellowship )at Srichitra Tirunal Institute of neurosciences,Trivandrum (Kerala).

He worked as consultant interventional radiologist at Narayana Hrudayalaya (2008-2012) and also worked as specialist radiologist in Dar-Alshifa hospital, Kuwait. His special interest in Interventional radiology.
Dr Argha Chatterjee

Dr. Argha Chatterjee is a fellowship-trained gastrointestinal and abdominal radiologist. He finished MBBS in 2009 and MD in Radio-diagnosis in 2013 from the West Bengal University of Health Sciences. He worked as a fellow in onco-radiology in Tata Medical Center, Kolkata for six months after which he pursued sub-specialty training in gastrointestinal radiology in Sanjay Gandhi Post-graduate Institute of Medical Sciences where he spent one and half years in training.

Then he further pursued further training in body imaging and worked for six months and one years in the University of Alabama at Birmingham, USA and Northwestern University, Chicago, USA, respectively. He later worked as a senior resident in St. John’s Medical College in Bangalore before joining as a consultant in Tata Medical Center, Kolkata in March 2018. He has made numerous presentations in national and international conferences and published in multiple peer-reviewed journals. His special interests include hepatobiliary oncoradiology, renal onco-radiology and academic radiology.

Dr. Anurima Patra has passed MD Radiodiagnosis from Tata memorial hospital, Mumbai in 2017. She worked as a senior resident in Christian medical college, Vellore from 2018 to 2020. She pursued further training for a year in Mayo Clinic Rochester, Minnesota, USA. Her work there was in the field of artificial intelligence in abdominal imaging. Currently she has joined as a Consultant in the Department of Radiology, Tata Medical Centre, Kolkata.

She takes keen interest in academics and participating in multidisciplinary conferences. Dr Suvro Sankha Datta

Dr. Suvro Sankha Datta is a Consultant in the department of Transfusion Medicine at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata. He passed his MBBS from West Bengal University of Health Sciences in 2008 and completed his MD in Immunohematology & blood transfusion, from Medical College Hospital, Kolkata in 2014. He subsequently worked as a clinical fellow in the Transfusion Medicine department at TMC, Kolkata for one year and in 2015 he moved to The Mission Hospital as a consultant; where he established a state-of-art department with a day care centre for thalassemia and haemophilia patients.

He was also instrumental to set-up an advanced coagulation laboratory with thromboelastography and platelet mapping facilities and started a paediatric therapeutic plasma exchange program there. After joining back to TMC Kolkata in 2019, he subsequently established a platelet serology laboratory for patients with platelet refractoriness. He was the key person to establish the molecular laboratory for blood group genotyping at TMC, Kolkata, first of this kind in the entire country. He is the faculty in-charge of the DNB program in Immunohaematology & blood transfusion at TMC Kolkata.

He is a member of national and international scientific bodies in the speciality of Transfusion Medicine and also recipient of multiple awards including the Harold GunSon Fellowship by the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) and H.D. Shoure Award by the Indian Society of Blood Transfusion & Immunohaematology (ISBTI).He is a certified reviewer of several international journals and has over 40 scientific publications in reputed National and International journals till date. His areas of interest include immunohaematology, platelets serology, evidence base transfusion practices, thromboelastography and therapeutic apheresis.
Dr. Debapriya Kumar (Basu)

Dr Debapriya Kumar (Basu) is the Consultant in the department of Transfusion Medicine at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata. She is from Bishnupur, the Temple town of West Bengal. She completed her schooling from Bishnupur. She entered in MBBS in 2005 at NRS Medical College, Kolkata. After completion of internship in 2011, she did housestaffship in Paediatric Surgery from the same college. In 2013 she entered in MD in Immunohaematology and Blood Transfusion at Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata.

From 2016 the journey at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata began after completion of her MD degree. The Fellowship in Transfusion Medicine at TMC, Kolkata ended in 2019. During this fellowship period she was involved in the operation every section of the Blood Center. Also she was engaged in academic activities and clinical research. From 2020 to 2021 she was the Consultant Medical Officer at Belur Sramajibi Swasthya Prakalpa Samity Blood Bank, Serampore, Hooghly. In 2021 she came back to TMC, Kolkata as the Clinical Associate in Transfusion Medicine.

She is the member of National and International professional bodies of Transfusion Medicine. She has seven publications in National and International journals. She won the award for best oral paper in the 1st National Conference on Hemovigilance. Dr Kumar has special interest in red cell serology, platelet serology, blood group genotyping and apheresis.

Urological Surgery

Dr Sujoy Gupta

Dr Sujoy Gupta completed his MS in General Surgery from the University of Calcutta. He then went on to qualify as FRCS of both England and Edinburgh. He urological training in the UK, include a Clinical Fellowship at the East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, and further specialization on uro-oncology at West Hertfordshire Hospital and Northampton General Hospital, all tertiary referral centres for uro-oncology in the UK. He subsequently completed FRCS in Urology.

He has also received training in Laparoscopic urology at the University of Strasbourg in France. He has more than 20 years of experience as a specialist urological surgeon.He set up and expanded the department of Uro-Oncology at TMC since its inception. His areas of interest are integrated service development in Urological Cancer, Laparoscopic and Robotic Urological Surgery.
Dr Gaurav Aggarwal

Dr. Gaurav Aggarwal, completed his undergraduation (MBBS) from Mumbai in 2004 and then graduation (MS Gen. Surgery), with a University Gold Medal, from DAVV Indore in 2010. Thereafter, he pursued higher surgical sub-speciality training in Surgical Oncology at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata, from 2011-2013. He then went on to complete his superspeciality degree (DNB) in Urology & Uro-Oncology from Apollo Hospital, Bhubaneswar, Odisha; and thereupon continued working as a Jr.

Consultant at the same institute for a period of one year (2018). He has subsequently joined Tata Medical Center as a Consultant in the Department of Urological-Oncology. His areas of interest include evidence based management for all Urological Cancers, as well as, Laparoscopic and Robotic Urological Surgery, where applicable.
