Here is your Government Holidays 2022 Bangladesh. Next year there will be 22 days of public holidays. However, the weekly holiday is six days.
The cabinet on Thursday (28 October 2021) approved the list of public holidays for 2022. The cabinet meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The Prime Minister took part in the virtual meeting. Later, Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam announced the decision at a press conference at the Secretariat.
The cabinet secretary said there would be a 14-day general holiday on the occasion of National Day and Religious Day among the total holidays next year.
This holiday again falls on two days Friday and one day Saturday, which is a weekly holiday. And on the occasion of different days including Bengali New Year, there will be eight days holiday in the executive order.
There is also a three-day weekly holiday on Friday and Saturday.
Apart from this, no more than three days leave can be taken on the occasion of religious festivals.
Employees of various small ethnic groups working in and around the Chittagong Hill Tracts have been given two days optional leave to celebrate the main social festival.
