Sunrise and sunset can be seen from here. You can trek from Ruilui area in Sajek to Kanglak Hill. Kanglak is the highest peak of Sajak.

Sajak Valley is currently the most popular destination for travel thirsty people. Beautiful mountain ranges all around, a valley of clouds like white cotton will fascinate you. Sajak is the ideal place to watch the natural cosmos and the game of flying from the mountains to the clouds like cotton.

Sajek is the largest union in Bangladesh, located in Baghaichhari upazila of Rangamati district. 1800 feet above sea level. Although Sajek is located in Rangamati district, it is very easy to travel to Sajek from Dighinala in Khagrachari due to geographical reasons. The distance from Khagrachhari district to Sajek is 70 km and from Dighinala is 40 km.

How To Go Sajek Valley

If you want you can go to Sajek Valley via Rangamati or Khagrachari. However, going through Khagrachari will be easy and affordable for you.

How to go through Khagrachari?

Several AC and non-AC buses including BRTC, Saint Martin, Shyamoli Paribahan, Hanif Paribahan left Dhaka for Khagrachhari. The rent can be 520 to 700 taka. This will take you 6 to 7 hours. Buses usually leave for Khagrachhari by 10 pm.

And if you want to take a direct bus from Dhaka to Dighinala. Several buses including Shanti Paribahan use this route regularly. The rent will be around 580 taka. Then you have to take a jeep or chander gari from Khagrachhari to Sajek Valley. The distance from Khagrachhari to Sajek is about 70 kilometers.

If you reserve this car for two days including up & down, the rent will be 8,000 to 10,000 taka. 12 to 15 people can go in one car. However, if there are less people, talking to another small group and sharing the car will cost less.

If that is not possible then you can go to Sajek with CNG. Reserve rent will be 4000 to 5000 taka. However, it is better not to travel by CNG as it is a hilly road. How to go through Rangamati?

To go to Sajek Valley via Rangamati, you must first go to Rangamati from Dhaka. Several buses including Shyamoli, St. Martin’s, Hanif, Unique, S. Alam run on this route every day. The fare of these non AC buses is 620 rupees and the fare of AC buses is 900 to 1500 rupees. Then you have to go to Baghaichhari by water or road from Rangamati.

The reserve market launches from the launch dock every day between 7:30 am and 10:30 am. It takes 5 to 6 hours to do. Rent per person is 150-250 taka. Buses leave from Rangamati bus terminal between 7:30 am and 8:30 am. The rent is 200 rupees per person. It takes 6-7 hours.

You can also go to Sajek Valley by jeep or motorcycle from Baghaichhari. It costs 300 taka per person.

Which must be remembered

If you want to go to Sajek Valley via Khagrachhari, you have to reach Dighinala between 9 am and 9:30 am. To get from Dighinala to Sajek Valley, you have to go to an army escort for safety. Army escorts are available twice a day. Once at 9:30 in the morning, again at 2:30 in the afternoon.

If you miss the morning escort you will have to wait until the afternoon. And if you miss the afternoon, you have to wait until the next day. You will not be allowed to go to Sajek Valley without army escort.

Sajek Valley | Where to eat?

Even if you don’t think much about eating when you go to Sajek. Because there are several good quality food restaurants or hotels. Among them Fudanki Restaurant, Chimbal Restaurant, Maruti Didi’s Restaurant, Kashaban Restaurant, Montana Restaurant are notable.

With pulses, rice, vegetables and local chicken, you will get a package of food per person. It will cost 200 taka. You can also have a barbecue with friends if you want. The cost will be around 250 taka. The funny thing is that if you go to Saje, you can also eat at the tribal house. But you have to tell him in advance what to eat, then he will cook it.

You will get papaya, pineapple, banana etc. fruits very cheaply. If you go there, you must not come without eating them.

Sajek Valley Travel Tips

  • Book a room in advance (a month) to avoid trouble.
  • There are security camps on the way. Traveling members have to submit some information there. Cooperate with them for security. Keep multiple photocopies of your national identity card with you.
  • Sajeke has no electricity, even if there is a solar system is not readily available. Take mobile power bank with you.
  • Only Robi, Airtel and Teletalk networks are available in Saje.
  • The road to Sajek is very winding and steep, so this road is dangerous. Do not travel in a jeep.
  • Guides are not required to go to Sajak.
