DU Admission Circular 2019-20

A new method has been introduced in the DU admission test. From this year, admission has been decided through MCQ and written examination.

Today, the details of the new methodology and other topics of the DU admission test are discussed.

Eligibility for applying

Those who have a grade lower than B grade, that is, C and D grades and students of SSC and HSC Result Science and Commerce are able to take the exam in their own unit if they have differently above 3.5.

KA (ক) Unit – Department of Science

  • Candidates who have passed the AIIMS and IGCSE /O Level and IAL/GCE A Level examinations in the Science and Agro-science Branch Science Branch of the Higher Secondary and Madrasa Education Bard will have a minimum of 8.0.
  • Secondary/equivalent and Higher Secondary/equivalent examination should have a minimum GPA of 3.5 separately.

Kha (খ) Unite – Humanitarian departments

  • Candidates passing the Higher Secondary and Madrasa Education Bards in the Humanities Branch will have a minimum of GPA 7.0 obtained in the secondary and higher secondary or equivalent examination (4th subject).
  • Secondary/equivalent and Higher Secondary/equivalent examination should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 separately.

Ga (গ) Unite – Business Education Department

  • Candidates who have passed the Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examination in Higher Secondary, Diploma-in-Business Studies, Diploma-in-Commerce and Business Management Examination minimum 7.5 in Business Education Branch.
  • Secondary/equivalent and Higher Secondary/equivalent examination should have a minimum GPA of 3.5 separately.
  • Candidates coming from Diploma-in-Business Studies, Diploma-in-Commerce and Business Management Branch at the Higher Secondary level must have an accounting subject and must have minimum B-grade (grade-3.0) in this regard.

Gha (ঘ) Unite – Integrated section

  • Candidates who have passed the Secondary and Higher Secondary and Madrasa Education Bards Humanitarian Branch Elimination Examination in the Humanitarian Branch, with a minimum of total GPA minimum of 7.0.
  • Secondary/equivalent and Higher Secondary/equivalent examination should have a minimum of 3.0 separately.
  • The minimum total GPA requirement of all candidates having passed the secondary and higher secondary or equivalent examination (including 4th subject) from the Science, Agronomy, Domestic Economy and Madrasa Education Bard Science branches is 8.0.
  • Secondary/equivalent and Higher Secondary/equivalent examination should have a minimum of 3.5 separately.
  • Candidates from the Higher Secondary, Diploma-in-Business Studies, Diploma-in-Commerce and Business Management Branch in Business Education Branch, with a minimum of total GPA, 7.5 in the Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examination (4th subject).
  • Secondary/equivalent and Higher Secondary/equivalent examination should have a minimum of 3.5 separately.
  • Applicants will not be accepted below B-grade (grade point 3.0) in any subject in higher or equivalent examination.

Assessment of DU Admission Test

Dhaka University admission test distribution of values has been changed from 2019-20. From this year’s admission test, a decision has been made to take the MCQ number 75 and the written test for number 45.

Separate time will be given for each test. There will be 50 minutes for the MCQ exam and 40 minutes for the written test.

A short question will be given for the written test, which should be written briefly in the answer sheet. However, admission notification for unit-based distribution of values will have to wait.
