Asghar Afghan touched Captain Dhoni’s world record

Asghar Afghan, the captain of Afghanistan, shared Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s world record. As a captain, Asghar sat down with Captain Cool to win more international T20 matches.

Despite setting a record for the time being, the Afghan captain has a chance to set a world record by beating Dhoni alone in the third and final T20 match of the current series against Zimbabwe.

In the second T20 match in Abu Dhabi, Afghanistan defeated Zimbabwe by 45 runs to secure a three-match series win. If they can win the third match and whitewash the Sean Williams, colorful feathers will be added to the crown of Captain Asghar.

Currently, Dhoni and Asghar Afghan both hold the record of winning the most number of 41 international Twenty20 matches as captains. Eoin Morgan is second on the list. Under his leadership, England has won 33 T20 matches. However, Asghar has achieved such a feat in far fewer matches than Dhoni.

Morgan has led England in the T20 format in 58 matches. Potterfield has led Ireland in 58 international Twenty20 matches.
