Apple big fines for ‘lying’ in Italy in 2021
Apple, the maker and marketer of the iPhone, is being fined for lying. In Italy, the company was fined 1 crore 20 lack dollar.
The Italian government has imposed the fine for sending misleading messages to consumers. Apple has claimed that several models of iPhone are water resistant.
The Italian Competition Authority said in a statement that the water-resistant properties of Apple’s iPhone models were effective in certain situations, the agency said in a statement.
This feature of the iPhone is effective during testing with stable and pure water in the laboratory. But under normal circumstances it is not effective. This means that when users use those models, they are not water resistant.
The Italian Competition Authority said the allegations were made against Apple’s iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max models.

While this company has claimed in the campaign to market these models, they are water resistant.
Further allegations against Apple, the company does not offer any warranty service if the phone set of those iPhone models is damaged due to fluid. The Italian Competition Authority says Iphone’s position is misleading to consumers.
According to the company, Apple’s behavior is in fact a ‘deadly business practice’. For these reasons, the Competition Authority has decided to impose a fine of 12 million on Iphone Distribution International and Apple Italia.
